TESTING OF RUBBER-METAL ELEMENTS

Testing of vehicle components for hysteresis, damping, and progression.

We possess our own testing facility equipped with high-performance testing machines for determining the characteristics/spring rates of bearings subjected to radial, axial, torsional, and cardanic loads. Our testing covers both static and dynamic evaluations of chassis, engine, and gearbox bearings, as well as air springs, to assess hysteresis, damping, and progression. We are also capable of testing switched motor bearing systems or level-regulating air suspensions. With our extensive experience, having conducted several thousand FEM calculations for a diverse range of customers, we boast a team of highly qualified calculation specialists. Our cutting-edge hardware and software are continuously updated to stay current. Unsere Leistungen umfassen insbesondere folgende Kompetenzbereiche:

Dynamic Testing

We carry out dynamic characteristic curve analysis using an MTS test rig. This allows us to test your components within a force range of +/- 10 kN and at frequencies of up to 1000 Hz. If necessary, we can also measure the components at specific temperatures. Our climate chamber has a working range of -40°C to +200°C. Measurements can be conducted in the frequency range of 0-1000 Hz and in the load range of 0-10.000 N.

With a wide variety of adaptations available, we can perform measurements on your elastomer components in all directions.

Possible dynamic measurements include:

  • Determination of static characteristic curves
  • Capture of dynamic stiffness
  • Determination of damping losses

Tests can be conducted across multiple frequency ranges in a single procedure.

Static Testing

We are capable of performing your measurements in translational mode, along a single axis, as well as in rotational mode, involving a rotational motion. The load range for translational measurements extends from 0 N to 50.000 N. For rotational tests, we can accommodate loads up to 200 Nm.

With our Zwick Roell test bench, we offer a broad spectrum of translational measurements, up to +/- 50 kN. We can also conduct rotational measurements in torsion and cardanic modes using our torque sensor, with capabilities up to 200 Nm.

Possible static measurements include:

  • Determination of spring characteristics
  • Measurement of lateral forces and identification of yield points
  • Static characteristic curves for various elastomer and hydro bearings
  • Determination of static stiffness
  • Material testing
  • Load testing

Simulated Aging Process for Rubber-Metal Elements

In our testing center, we simulate the aging process of rubber-metal elements, enabling us to replicate the entire lifecycle in a condensed timeframe. By subjecting a wide range of suspension components to static and/or dynamic loading in our climate chambers, we can accelerate the aging process, mimicking years of usage within a matter of weeks.
